for those in seattle, this week is the craft brewer's conference so be sure to go out and get your brew on. you will be sure to find most ales houses with their best beers pouring.

i know brouwer's will have the bottleworks 7th anniversary bourbon barrel imperial stout on tap. i believe it comes in at 9.5%.

i have a few victory storm kings in my cellar that i've had there for about a year. took one out the other night. they have improved nicely. don't think i'll keep them down there much longer because i can't see them changing much more.

and remember all you beer geeks. good beer tastes much better when it is not ice cold. unless it is a pilsneer of course

i actually haven't, but have heard about it. i can't find the beer here in LA except for in a thai restaurant. i actually emailed the west coast distributor to find out where i could buy it, he gave me a number and i haven't called yet as applications got in the way of my momentum.

i think i'll start my search again.

switcheroo, my friends were in search of an old church to open their bar in. too bad the beers they list don't even break 5%.

e - all their current specialty beers are above 5%. i remember having something very belgian and was brewed with cherries...served in a 1 liter bottle with wine glasses...it was like 10 or 12%.

pittsburgh loves converting old churches into interesting things. they just closed "the sanctuary", a hip dance club with strict dress code. went out with a bang - the "last supper" was served on new year's eve. another one is being converted to upscale apartments. a jewish synagogue was converted into a tutor center.

I first reach for a cold Negra Modelo or a Bohemia and if i want to keep it classy with a canned beer, nothing like a Tecate con limon y sal.
