BLURRED BORDER

This project tries to clarify these question:

When one country two systems principle ends, how will Hong Kong and Shenzhen cooperate after 2048? How will residents from both sides meet and coexist? What will the physical boundary of Shenzhen and Hong Kong be in the future? With the trend of close cooperation between the two places, we predict that the future border will be more than just a physical boundary, not just a line, a wall. In the future, the border will be gradually widened by various functions to meet the needs of residents in both places.

Luofang Village is our site located ion the border of Shenzhen and Hong Kong  and we propose it will be one of the meeting points where young people from both sides are able to work and live together with low living costs, relieving the stress of them. Besides, working and living together will help young people with different cultural backgrounds to get along and learn from each. As a result, it will mediate the issues of cultural conflicts as well as reach cultural symbiosis.
