MONSTER ARCHITECTURE
TCAUP / FALL 2009 / B.S.Arch
The project asked students to take a stance regarding “monster architecture”, concerning scale and iconic forms. The requirements were to design an educational building in Chicago, IL. The structure needed to respond to its urban setting, and meet the needs of the immediate community. Projects fell between a single iconic form to an aggregation of several small pieces.
This specific studio focused on a site located in Logan Square, Chicago. The neighborhood was mainly working class. The site was bordered with commercial zoning on two streets and with residential zoning on the third street.
