Barkev received his Bachelor’s in 2011 from the Southern California Institute of Architecture where he was awarded consecutive scholarships for his portfolio and graduated with distinction for his academic achievements. Since then, he has contributed to award-winning projects with select design studios garnering recognition from the AIA. As a native Angelino, he has experienced the diversity of varying climates and environments throughout the greater Los Angeles area ranging from the coastlines, deserts, mountains, and metropolitan which has been instrumental to the contextual approach of his design strategies.
Barkev is an Associate member of The American Institute of Architects (AIA). He has received certification for proficiency and commitment to the profession of interior design from The Council of Interior Design Qualifications (CIDQ). Conjointly, he has attained Evidence-based Design Accreditation and Certification from The Center for Health Design (CHD). Daron has also attained a series of credentials as an accredited professional including: WELL AP from The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), SITES AP from The Green Business Certifications Inc (GBCI), and LEED AP in four specialties inclusive of: 'Neighborhood Development', 'Interior Design + Construction', ‘Building Design + Construction’, and 'Homes' from The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
His credentials speak to his belief that the pursuit of excellence in the design of architecture shall utilize mindful consideration of sustainability and how that applies to, and impacts, our prosperity as a species within both our natural habitat and built environment.
