For all the big Foster + Partners fans out there or anyone wanting to learn more about the renowned British practice's body of work over the last 50 years, the UQAM Centre de Design in Montreal will be hosting a free exhibition called “Fostering Society: Foster + Partners” starting next month.
Read on for more.
As one of the Centre's most ambitious exhibitions by far, Fostering Society (curated by Centre de Design Director Börkur Bergmann) spotlights the global firm's achievements and their commitment to human-centered design over the years.
The exhibition also focuses on Foster + Partners' pioneering dedication to sustainable development, long before it became a pressing topic. In 1975, the firm incorporated a green roof at the Willis Faber and Dumas Headquarters in Ipswich. They also designed the world's first environmentally friendly high-rise for Commerzbank in Frankfurt.
Other projects in the exhibition include the Reichstag New German Parliament, the Gherkin, the British Museum, the future New International Airport, Mexico, and more.
The opening reception takes place February 7 at 6 p.m., and the exhibition will be on display from February 8-April 15, 2018.
On February 8 at 6 p.m., Nigel Dancey, Foster + Partners Senior Executive Partner and Head of Studio, will give a free public lecture “The New International Airport of Mexico City”.
