About

I received the Master of Advanced Architectural Design degree from Columbia University, GSAPP in May this year and received my Bachelor of Architecture degree in South China University of Technology in 2017. In addition to my education, I had a 3-month internship in Guangdong Jianke Architectural Design Institute where I mainly worked on housing and education projects. My work included doing research, recommending design solutions and drawing plans, elevations, sections, details and rendered drawings. I collaborated with architects to design a sustainable library in which I learned sustainability techniques when I prepared diagrams and rendered drawings for the project.

I am always curious on other fields besides architecture and try to apply new technologies in my architecture design. During my undergraduate degree, I collaborated with urban planning students to design houses for fishermen in Philippines and got a special award in Design Resilience in Asia, an international competition held by National University of Singapore. On another project, my collaborating with engineering students on water management in Netherlands when I participated in summer program in Delft University of Technology is an opportunity for me to learn different aspects of sustainable design. I learned how to combine new technologies with architecture during my collabration with people from different backgrounds and different countries.

I also have the experience of communicating with clients and vendors. My teammates and I designed and built a wooden structure to hold small exhibitions during my intern in my undergraduate school. I researched various building materials and discussed with people in school and vendors in markets to choose the right materials for the project’s budget. The wooden structure was a success and it is still in use now. My experience in the whole process of construction has provided me with an excellent background in the practical aspects of architecture.
