About

I have been involved in construction since graduating high school in 1999.  I have worked in various trades: for four years I worked for a high-end finishing company in Santa Barbara; I've completed three years of journeyman experience in Minneapolis, MN doing rough framing and finish carpentry in my early twenties; I continued to work in high-end residential remodels while finishing my undergraduate education at UCLA where I graduated with Latin Honors.  Upon completing my studies I started a small historic restoration practice and acquired a C-5 California Contractors License.  The first project in which I was the lead carpenter/principal contractor was the Starr Dairy Farm House (built 1885).  This project was awarded the Conservancy Preservation Award in 2014 by the Los Angeles Conservancy.  I also renovated my own 1905 craftsman home in Highland Park, Los Angeles.  (http://www.latimes.com/home/la-hm-0924-taidgh-oneill-20160907-snap-story.html)

In the last six years I've turned my focus to contemporary furniture design and custom cabinetry.  I operate a 3000+sq. ft. wood shop in downtown Los Angeles where I create residential and commercial millwork.  My furniture is carried by a number of design galleries in Los Angeles, New York, Sao Paolo, Brazil and Seoul, Korea.  I create bespoke pieces for my own clients and several highly-respected design firms.

I am currently looking to bring my diverse background, years of hands-on knowledge and enthusiasm for work to a larger, well-established firm.
