The Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation (BWAF) has announced the first two winners of its prestigious annual BEVY Leadership Awards, celebrating the contributions of women across different segments of the AEC industry.
Arup’s Chair of the Americas Fiona Cousins and Snøhetta Managing Partner Elaine Molinar are among this year’s winners, joined by four others who stood out to the jury for their demonstrated qualities in the areas of organizational excellence, innovation, mentorship, academic leadership, media engagement, and emerging leadership. The BWAF also notes that this year marks the 20th edition of the award.
“These six women are making an impact in the AEC industry. Their commitment to exceptional design and architecture is building communities’ strength and vitality,” BWAF executive director Cynthia Phifer Kracauer said in a statement. “They’re leading the way for women’s advancement in the industry. It is our honor to recognize them with our leadership awards during our gala event.”
Cousins, Molinar, and the remaining cohort will all be honored during the special themed gala titled ‘Breaking Ground’ to be held on October 19th at Manhattan’s Bryant Park Grill. WeWork’s Senior Vice President and Global Head of Design Ebbie Wisecarver and RAMSA partner Jennifer L. Stone are the dinner’s co-chairs. The four other winners will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event, according to the foundation.
