First half is over, 0-0 , Barça had possession the entire game…” it looks like Chelsea is going to make it to the break without any further damage to their hopes. The seconds half is sure to be the Alamo

2-1 barca
two own goals and then a header for barca.
barca pretty much dominated...of course they were up a
man the entire second half. ronaldinho is scary on the
ball...just the right amount of touch on most of his passes
to find open offensive players...i can't recall him losing
a ball in the portion of the match i watched...

and terry kept chelsea in the game..seemed as though
he met almost every cross into the box..and cleared two
certain goals off the line. (although he did have the own
goal and should've been beat on a header by larsson)

leo messi is going to be a huge player - 18 years old and amazing...southpole, if your boys can gel as a team they may have a shot of winning the wc in germany. scandinavian refs sure do stick together!

so who had to be the first team to win Mourinho at his home in two f*cking years!?

us, of course.

Superb (specially the second half), it could have ended with a 1-4 easily...

to be fair to chelski in the second half...they were playing a man down...
and seemed to have the run of play until their goal...but then seemed to
tire and barcelona imposed their will. a team of quality such as barcelona should win when they're a man up.

and i agree about messi...had never seen him play before this
match and he looks as though he's going to be a stud. had
several chances to score...most of which were created by
himself...or on through balls from ronaldinho.

Messi, Larsson, Edmilson and Rafa Marquez where the best for Barça...Rafa a webo cabron!!! VIVA MEXICO CHINGAO!!!, he jumped at the first barça goal and made the brit score in his own goal, and gave the (perfect) pass for the second goal by ETO.... nice game... Mourinho...go and cry w/ur mom not in the press room!!

gambling may be the only connection with horses - just ask rooney and owen!
was a great match - really want to see messi back and healthy for the CL, but
more importantly for the world cup.

last european night at highbury today, should be a cracking game a gains the yellow submarine - looking at ars 3- 2 villareal

horse racing ?? ... mwahahahahahahaha ... surely you're joking steve !! .. horse racing .. hahahahaha

anyway .. yeah i wanted to see messi on too .. or even larson. they were missed even more coz eto was screwing up the play everytime he touched the ball .. very odd night for him .

at highbury .. i predict 2-0 to arsenal.

ready for the world cup!? according to FIFA, the US national team is the 4th best in the world...

ohh .. c'mon .. I'm not saying that the US team is not good .

They are surely among the better teams .. but 4th ?? ...

other than brazil being on top .. everything else is just a farce ...
argentina 8th ?? .. england 10th ??

Apr 20, 06 1:31 am  ·
 ·
larslarson

i disagree slightly...yes the u.s. shouldn't be 4th...but the fifa
rankings have always been suspect...i would say though that
the top ten are the top ten teams in the world...

and why should argentina and england be ranked higher at the
moment? i do think england will do well in the cup if they
play to their potential...and argentina is typically good..but are
they good this year?

the us have played great this year...and the fifa rankings are
supposed to represent the last four years? or so. they did
well in the last cup and qualified faster than they ever have
before for this world cup...their last couple matches haven't
been great (germany, jamaica) but they have also been
without all of their european-based players...

can't wait til june....they've got a rough road

lol .. upside down ... australian are you ...

hmmm .. you have a tight group there mate .. most people are predicting a last place for you guys in that group .. but dont forget 2002 and 1982 ... (and even the last euro!!) upsets are always possible

FIFA rankings don't mean shit apart from Brasil being top. it's all based on meaningless friendlies and 4 year old world cup results. england 10th?? give me a break. if anything they're a close second behind brasil and i'll put my money on them to win it this year. only trouble is, if that happens we'll hear about it for the next 40 years but does the good old engURland team look strong...

I have to agree, Fifa and mafia have always been the same word, and quite frankly, those rankings are usually misleading. While its true that the US has been improving, there's no way they should be considered fourth.
By the way, Argentina made it to the final of the confederations cup last summer (sadly enough lost it to Brazil 4-1), and was also the first to classify to the world cup from the south american teams when it beat Brazil 3-1.
In regards to England, I'm from Argentina and so it hurts me to say it, but everybody knows they've got one of the top three midfields right now, and I would not be surprised if they win the world cup this time around. They're way overdue for another one and out of the European teams they've got everything going for them. They've been under the same coach for the last eight years, and their team has a blend of young and experienced amazing players all around...

what i'm trying to figure out...judgin by fifa's criteria...
how is holland 3rd?

and i agree that the u.s. don't belong in the top four..
although i think they can hang with almost any team
in the world at this point...and can now dominate teams
they were equal to eight or so years ago...

as an american i'm happy to finally see the u.s. getting
a team that can play quality soccer/football.

i think in four years time they'll belong in the top five or
so discussion..but at the moment not really.

i do agree that england's midfield is quality...but hasn't
their problem been defense and goaltending...they have
rooney, owen and the tall guy as forwards...am i forgetting
someone? it seems as though they're eveyone's favorite/
darkhorse right now...and this could be their year just due
to the overall lack of quality...(italy without totti, holland
still young in my opinion, a weak german entry...)

and arqa...looking at the confederations cup...there was
germany, mexico and brasil...greece? maybe they did win
the euro...but the u.s. can beat mexico anywhere outside
of mexico at this point..and as i said before germany isn't
that great..so i'd expect argentina to get to the finals...
they beat australia, tunisia and tied germany...beat mexico
on pks to get to the finals...

their qualifying early is to be expected as well..but it does show
their quality.

PsyArch, crillywazzy. if only... let's not get carried away yet and as much as i want to see them there one goal at home isn't much to play with for the away game. but man, arsenal-barca in paris next month, just what a dream final would that be...

most catalan Barça fans don't want a Barça-Villareal final... as much as we would love to see the first CL final with two teams from catalan-speaking territories it would not be the same like winning against Arsenal or any other european team, specially after our triumphant demonstrations in Old Trafford and San Siro... in fact, they should cancel the final, we already beat the other two real candidates, so we're, for now, the moral winners..
