I’ll be the schmuck that posts the political stereotypes.

All conservatives are hateful, war-mongering, sexist, bigot homophobes. They’re also stupid, closed minded, don’t think the issues through, and rely solely on Rush Limbaugh to form our opinions for them. No thinking person with a college degree could ever reason their way to conservatism. All conservatives have gun racks, chew tobacco, speak with a southern accent, and screw their sister/various farm animals. Most conservatives are only conservatives because their preacher told them it was the Christian thing to do. (And we all know Christians can't possibly think for themselves or reason.)

Libertarians consist of two types of people: militias and pot heads. They are anarchists with a different name. The only reasons to become a libertarian are to repeal taxes, repeal gun laws so you can spend half of your tax money on guns, and repeal drug laws so you can spend the other half on pot.

All liberals are feminazis, castrated men, gays, college students, minorities, or have something to do with art/design. They value the life of a tree/animal over the life of any human. They believe in socialism as utopia. They think the government knows better. The are quick to call Bush an imbecile (forget that he graduated from Yale with better grades than John Kerry), but will turn around and claim that he and Karl Rove tricked them with their evil genius. They hate all things fun, want your children to wear helmets everywhere at all times, and believe in special/extra rights for gays and minorities. And they hate Christians, Jews, morality, and family values.

I’m sure there’s more. Those were just the ones I could come up with off the top of my head.

just to further clear up the whole north-south debate. the mason-dixon line actually doenst have much to do with north and south. as we all know, the whole debate started in the civil war, so i dont know what happens when you go west, but on the east coast its pretty simple: if you seceded from the union = south, if you fought with the union = north. therefore, PA, MD + DE = north (despite all their southern tendencies) and VA and everything south of there = south.

as a proud MD-er, i find myself clarifying this a lot....trust me, if you spend some time in philly and baltimore, and then head to richmond...you'll feel the change.

Thats also why Texas is sometimes considered South, though geographically, its south central, and Texans consider themselves Texans above all else first, and then Southern.

To somebody overseas, a Yankee is an American.
To an American, a Yankee is a northerner.
To a northerner, a Yankee is somebody from New England.
To a New Englander, a Yankee is somebody from Vermont.
To a Vermonter, a Yankee is somebody who still uses an outhouse.
I'll stop there.

Colombia ranks second in the world for flower exports. We are behind Holland. Other interesting information about Colombia's flower business.

No one has ever accused my family of trafficking flowers though. That is kind of a silly mental image.

I love this thread. It is both silly and sad all at once. I find myself chuckling and thinking "oh that's bad!" and then chuckling some more. Like the "Jews are cheap" line.....oh my goodness.

Living in downtown Cincinnati, I was constantly subjected to questions about how many times I had been shot at, if I had to wear a bullet-proof vest to go in my apartment, etc. 'Never', I thought, 'but the next time you ask me that I might shoot YOU'

Has anyone seen "The Brave One"? There are some serious stereotypes in that movie. However, I still found it very intense, and satisfying and it made me think a lot. My favorite new stereotype = docile white woman with a gun who will shoot your ass.

I like how PA is described as part of "the South" above. C'mon, you guys know PA. It's one of those states along the northern border of the US.

I do agree with LiG about what's between Pittsburgh and Philthadelphia...

I'm sorry but "Pennsyl-tucky" is an inappropriate use of the second half of Kentucky. That is reserved for redneck areas of southern Ohio and Indiana such as Hamilton (Hamiltucky).

PA is right next to West Virginia. Come on, be creative.

That said, people in New Hampshire say "y'all set" as if their lives depended on it.
