Born and raised in Rhodes (Greece), an island with an intrinsic landscape character, since my childhood I have developed a particular concern about the conservation of its natural and cultural heritage. This concern has been the key pivot for my studies and career path.

I graduated from the School of Architecture in 2008 and I obtained a II level Master Degree in Bioclimatic Architecture and Sustainable Technologies for the Environment in 2010, accomplishing an apprenticeship of 3 months in the technical office of the third municipality of Rome.

As a PhD candidate in Human and Physical Geography (2012-2016), I have been principally interested in issues concerning sustainability and the transformations of rural landscapes in relation with tourism. My PhD thesis has been based on research paradigms from various disciplinary fields (spatial sciences, landscape ecology, environmental psychology and cultural geography) to suggest a theoretical and methodological framework for tourism landscape evaluation. 

As a Postdoctoral research fellow at IUAV University of Venice (2016-2018), I conducted research on the topic of analysis of historical rural landscapes for preservation purposes, through GIS techniques, application of landscape indicators and investigation of social landscape perceptions.

Beyond my research work in academic context, thanks to the various collaborations with architects, civil engineers and designers, I acquired the skills for implementation of architectural projects (residential, hospitality, commercial, etc) in various scales and phases of the design process, as well as experience of working in groups.
