    My president

    Samuel Mortimer

The president of the University of Tennessee system, John Peterson, resigned today. He was not the most popular guy in the world (especially with the faculty) and although he is leaving in the midst of a budget crisis - I think most would tag this as a step in the right direction.

This time last year Peterson forced former Knoxville chancellor Crabtree out of his position (which was just filled about 2 weeks ago). The College of Architecture has been without a permanent Director for about 1.5 years now and we have also been missing a Interior Design director for about 1 year.

(side note, we just filled the Graduate architecture Director and associate dean positions about a year ago - both internally)

Is this just the way things work? Do people really just constantly shift jobs from one place to another?

About this Blog

School blog of BArch student Samuel Mortimer kept from 2008 - 2011. Mostly late-night musings of the studio, but with an emphasis of the events of the College of Architecture and Design and University of Tennessee on the whole. Later blogs discuss participation in the New Norris House project, as both a student and researcher hired after graduation.
