Cherry Entry Table

This traditional cherry shaker entry table design is enhanced with unique aesthetic elements to elevate its visual appeal. The tabletop features a back bevel, which allows for a more substantial top without making the design feel heavy.

The drawers are dovetailed and fitted with maple pulls designed in a style reminiscent of James Krenov. These pulls incorporate a gentle center bulge and tapering ends to provide an additional layer of visual intrigue. They are attached to the drawer fronts using walnut blocks, creating a contrast with the lighter woods. In future iterations, I have used ambrosia maple to allow the pulls to age gracefully alongside the cherry.
The table’s feet are adorned with walnut veneer, evoking elements of the federal style while remaining understated. This minimalist approach complements the piece’s shaker aesthetic.
