About

I received my Master of Architecture degree from the University of Michigan in 2010. I recently pursued and graduated with a Master of Science in Architecture also from the University of Michigan. The focus of study was Design Research.

My professional experiences have been in a variety of settings, including architectural firms, sales, and product development firms. I have more than three years experience as an AutoCAD technician in architectural firms and University offices. I worked in the Office of Capital Planning while attending Bowling Green State University. It was there that I experienced the behind the scenes management of buildings on campus. I managed the database for all buildings on campus, which included drawings, updating AutoCAD plans, field measurements, and creating drawings for new buildings on campus.

In my own work I am an experienced three-dimensional modeler. I enjoy producing interesting representational proposals that appear clean, useful, and realistic. I have worked on design proposals of all sizes, from residential to commercial to master planning strategies. I have a particular interest in presentation skills, I am a strong communicator as well as an engaged presenter. I am self-motivated, but also find it important to engage, share, and work in group settings. I have always had an interest within individual architectural projects to work specifically on the conceptual design and final presentation material. I have worked on many different types of architectural projects in studio as well as during my teaching experience.

Thesis :: Images for a City: Constructions + Manipulations of the Fallen

I spent the year doing individual research through design that explored how architects participate in public relations campaigns, image constructions for architectural proposals, and urban strategies in cities that appear no longer viable i.e. Flint, Michigan, Youngstown, Ohio, and Braddock, Pennsylvania. The year concluded with an exhibition displaying this research and an independently published Pamphlet, based off of the Pamphlet Architecture series.
