Archinect - News 2024-05-23T12:14:40-04:00 https://archinect.com/news/article/150326854/perkins-eastman-announces-acquisition-of-kliment-halsband-architects Perkins Eastman announces acquisition of Kliment Halsband Architects Josh Niland 2022-10-13T15:27:00-04:00 >2024-03-15T01:45:58-04:00 <img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/4f/4f71d30daeb0a25758879e357d144ee1.jpg?fit=crop&auto=compress%2Cformat&enlarge=true&w=1200" border="0" /><p><a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/5885730/perkins-eastman" target="_blank">Perkins Eastman</a> has announced the acquisition of New York&rsquo;s <a href="https://archinect.com/klimenthalsbandarchitects" target="_blank">Kliment Halsband Architects</a>&nbsp;(KHA) in a move announced jointly by both firms on October 3rd.</p> <p>The 50-year-old practice is Perkins Eastman&rsquo;s second acquisition this year following a move in February to&nbsp;<a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150298399/perkins-eastman-acquires-blt-architects-its-second-merger-in-as-many-years" target="_blank">acquire BLT Architects</a> (now known as BLTa&mdash;A Perkins Eastman Studio). He was later schooled in France and Cuba before studying architecture at Yale, where he received his B.A. in 1954. After serving with the U.S. Army in Europe, he returned to Yale to complete his M.Arch in 1959, and upon graduation won a Fulbright Fellowship to study the history and evolution of urban spaces in Italy. He joined <a href="http://archinect.com/mitchellgiurgola" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Mitchell/Giurgola</a> in 1960 as the firm&rsquo;s first full-time staff member, and later opened their New York office.
