I love the chalk idea, but that off-set bottom strip looks completely disconnected. Two gray horizontal strips are too much.

i agree. they should just leave it at chalk board. a designer kitchen serving theory?

yeah...interesting ideas...definitely not playing on the cliches BUT its not really working just yet. i don't get why the image of the kitchen is there...and who talks about theory on a chalk board in their kitchen? sorry!!!
