We are seeking an Intermediate Architect / BIM Coordinator with 5+ years of experience working in a major international architecture firm on medium to large scale projects such as residential, corporate offices, mixed-use developments, and/or large-scale cultural projects. The position will be based in MAD’s Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in BIM and design, with the ability to shift between coordinator and designer roles easily.  The candidate should be extremely professional, possess strong design and communication skills, and be able to independently solve problems while receiving technical guidance on unusual or complex issues. 

Requirements:

  1. Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  2. 5+ years of progressively responsible project experience working for a major international architecture firm
  3. Proficient expertise in Autodesk softwares, including Revit, Dynamo, and Navisworks; preference for individuals with a strong understanding of digital delivery workflow, including Rhino and Grasshopper
  4. BIM qualifications, such as BRE or RICS, are preferred
  5. Revit coordination experience with consultants, family and template creation, and clash detection skills are preferred
  6. Experience on complex projects, including residential, corporate office, and large-scale cultural projects during SD-CD phases
  7. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to understand MAD’s design intent and transcribe sketches/ideas/concepts to 3D models and 2D drawings
  8. Be legally authorized to work in the US

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage Revit models to support the Project Manager and design team; supervise and coach Junior Designers to ensure the overall BIM standards and workflow are followed
  2. Independently document the design in Revit with a focus on preserving MAD’s design intent from SD to CD phases
  3. Work closely with Executive Architects, Consultants, and the design team to resolve problems on complex projects, while receiving guidance from Senior Associates and Partners
  4. Liaise with BIM coordinators from client/consultants, review BIM execution plans, and ensure a smooth workflow throughout the duration of the project
  5. Balance a fast-paced work environment and execute obstacles and tight deadlines with a positive attitude; the candidate should be highly reliable, outgoing, a strong communicator, and able to manage multiple projects as required
