Kohn Pederson Fox Associates (KPF), a global architecture practice headquartered in New York City, is seeking a Communications Coordinator in our New York office to help reinforce the mission of our large global firm. This role will contribute to our communications strategy and marketing initiatives by playing a vital role in content generation for our website, social media, press outreach, and more. The candidate will join KPF’s Marketing and Communications team and work directly with the Senior Communications Manager and Senior Content Manager. 

Our department has grown over the past year, and we continue to invest in strong visual storytelling through video, animations, and dynamic website stories. We have set an ambitious 2024 marketing strategy that requires robust content production capabilities, and this role will be an essential part of that growth for our department and for the firm. The Communications Coordinator will have many opportunities to help define the role alongside a team of talented and enthusiastic individuals, who bring their own personalities and perspectives to a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter who is detail-oriented, creative, and a collaborative problem-solver. Excellent communication and time management skills are essential. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Writing project descriptions, news summaries, and leadership bios; 
  • Preparing content for social media platforms and third-party website profiles; 
  • Updating KPF.com via Wordpress; 
  • Assisting with awards submissions, exhibitions, lectures, and presentations; 
  • Producing a monthly internal firm-wide email newsletter.  

Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years of experience working in a communications role or internship; 
  • A passion for the built environment: you have an appreciation for and either worked or took courses in planning, architecture and how the built environment affects our daily lives; 
  • A degree in journalism, marketing, communications and/or a degree in architecture or environmental building design; 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong project management, planning and time management skills;
  • Experience with/interest in developing media outreach plans and/or social media campaigns for the AEC industry or building design-related communications; 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, basic graphic design standards preferred.
