Employer:SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER
Studio SFW, a Manhattan-based collaborative architecture and interior design studio, is seeking a Senior Architectural Designer with exceptional communication skills and Contract Administration experience to join our team. Working under the direction of our design principals, this individual will contribute directly to the design vision and successful execution of a range of residential projects.
Candidates should have a professional degree in architecture from an accredited program and 7-10 years experience in residential design, exhibit strong design and organizational skills, and be able to contribute to a fast-paced, creative office. Specific experience working in the NYC boroughs is a plus. You bring the enthusiasm, we’ll bring the fun.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Work independently on architectural design projects and coordinate project design efforts
Production of Conceptual, Schematic, and Design Development drawings; sketches, perspectives, renderings, and presentations; finish and material samples boards and graphic presentations
Production of Schematic, Design Development, and Construction Document Level documentation including schedules and specifications as required
Source and refine finishes and materials including lighting and electrical fixtures, plumbing fittings, fixtures and accessories, and other items required for the execution of the project’s design vision
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Interface with external consultants and design teams to keep projects on schedule and budget
Prepare and develop presentations and design documentation
Manage project and furnishing budgets
Produce and properly file meeting agendas and minutes, project notes, project memos, sketches, and other documents
Visit job sites for projects for design and construction administration, including meeting with contractors, clients, consultants, etc
File and track all incoming documentation from other consultants
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; advanced degree is a plus
7-10 years of experience in residential architectural design
Demonstrated knowledge of the design process, products, materials and construction details
Knowledge of residential project constructability, project costs, and building code requirements
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar (Studio SFW uses Vectorworks for 2D drafting), Adobe Photoshop & Indesign, and SketchUp and/or Rhino
Located in New York City, and ability to travel outside of the New York area on a regular basis
