Of the bigger name ones, probably Architecture.

I like Archis and ARK as well though.

Am I the only one that feels Arch Record is becoming less and less relevant?

both Architecture and Architectural Record are slim

mdler - slim? In content yes, in actual width? There must be at least 120 pages of ads in the more recent records, why don't they just change their name to sweet's and get it over with.

Currently I am feeling more ICON, Blueprint, ID. I think architecture magazines are not that interesting anymore, they seem pre packaged and formulaic. I guess the golden years where when Architecture Magazine was fully agressive (a little biased) but full of insane shots circa '97-'99.
**But of course El Croquis is a great reference for projects**

i personally get:
azure, arch review, dwell (sometimes), metropolis,
ID, and el croquis...i get record too, but i agree that
it's more like a sweets catalogue as of late

and i would get abitare and domus if i could...with an
a+u every once in a while.

i agree with FDB...but still find that Metropolis offers a pretty interesting perspective, although it's as predictable as the others.

Domus and Abitare are pretty good too, and if you gotta have ads, they have the best ones.

A+U, El Croquis and GA _ for the pricier...

PRAXIS is wonderful..i lived in one of the dorms featured in the university housing issue. plus one of my favorite professors does a lot of the layout and editing.

What do you guys look for in a magazine? I ask because I've been thinking about starting one (at least in e-zine format) for awhile. I thinking about making a more open source rag with guest editors and submitted content. Course, this may be just another of my crazy schemes....

A Center for Ants?

I'd like something that's very well written with the usual smattering of nice photos. Less ads. Things that provoke discussion and thought. Showing things that are off the beaten track and a good balance of lauding reviews and critique.

frame ... it's more interiors focused, but definitely has the most sass for square inch.

also - arch review from england, consitently high quality in its contents and editorial principles. also - german detail is so dry its almost pornographic.

arquine is good.. part spanish, part english.. great illustrations...
icon, metropolis, case,
I think there are some decent magazines out there but you have to search in places you would not expect to find anything remotely related to design.. oh, and objekt.......
