o, because i have a pet peeve against when people refer to their cities by the airport codes... ("i live in BOS" or "i'm visiting SFO this weekend" or "i'm moving to PEK"). i get confused because i refer to the airports by these codes ... not the cities. it's kinda like saying "i lived in grand central for a while but then i moved cross-country to union station"

holz> peking is named by the foreigners centuries ago.... until now China opens up her door to the world, she decided to used beijing as a translation from putonghua.

i know.

PEK is the formal iata designation for beijing.

BJ is really an unfortunate shortcut for beijing.

A fellow studio member has interned there and talks about it incessantly, as one would assume a student would.
"they are doing this, ... we did that....I did this.."

I suppose it depends on what you want to get out of it.
He mentioned he had to beg for some sort of rec' letter, which in the end was just a standardized piece of paper that basically said he interned there.

i think the work of MAD is quite
1. shadow,
2. lack of substance,
3. trend followers!

specifically, r u only interested in working in Beijing?
what i know is MAD pays badly.... in stead of working for MAD, i would prefer to work for Zaha Hadid... well, still pay not well, but at least u get to access to great facilities, great cultural resource from the city. things are quite restricted in Peijing tho....as a foriegner, i dont know if you would enjoy it...
