Has anyone registered for this competition? If so, any suprises/thoughts on the more detailed competition brief? I'm trying to get a better sense for it before i pay $100 to register. Thanks!

What?! They won't release the details until you pay $100? How does that help anyone, including the competition? Weird.

they give you the site location, sq. ft., budget, and that its a 'inter-faith chapel'. i really wish they would have posted the full program. not sure why they'd hold out on more info.
its an abysmally banal, suburban site, but it is an opportunity to be non-contextual and experiment

I registered and I'm working on it. Registration is closed now, so this probably won't help much, but the additional details are mostly technical information. No programmatic surprises.
Sorting through the information is taking a lot longer than I expected, and the site plan requirements have been changed twice because the site wouldn't fit on the boards at the required scale.
I really like the fact that it's banal. Suggests that practical heads without a political agenda will be making the decisions. It's also an opportunity to respect the clients' tastes and budget and to enhance the original architect's design, should one choose to.
I'm not enthusiastic about the $100 dollars, either.
