except for #2, a lot of these don't suck as bad as i remember.

but i see this one too often to have learned to appreciate it. still made that it was allowed to be inflicted on our city, even 10+ years later:

Is the first one Poultry Place by the old English dude who would torture his students by making them draw their axons upside down and backwards. James Stirling, that's the man. Is that his building? I remember seeing it the last time I was in London. There was a Roman archeological site nearby.

It would be funny to "infect" all of the other threads on Archinect with this sick, hot, illegal postmodernism, so that when Paul comes back, it's all over the place.

(Will this comment get me banned?)

Yep, some of these are awful, but I'll always love the Portland Building. And I have a soft spot for PPG Place, for sure.

But Unicorn, I hate that building - though it never fails to make me giggle when it shows up here!

Laugh all you want, but future architects will surely be signing petitions and holding up picket signs to save many of these buildings (I think it's already happened in the case of Piazza D'Italia).

wow, Steven... that monstrosity has been inflamed in Louisville for only 10 years? I'm hoping to visit Louisville sometime soon, as I've heard it's a nice city and a cool place, but sorry to hear that Louisville was still caught up in the worst of postmodernism so late.

Also, I agree that some of the postmodern buildings posted aren't as bad as I might have once said. Still, some are horrible. Just like modern architecture or vernacular architecture, what good architects do with a style is not the same as what overreaching mediocre architects do.
