Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of University Planning and Programming, the Project Manager/Space Planner oversees the initial phases of a space utilization project including but not limited to site assessment of facilities, development of concept sketches, user requirements, RFP’s, estimates, etc. 

The Project Manager/Space Planner maintains various space planning and upfront project documents that succinctly capture the use of University space in three times frames: current, near-term, future.

This position will be required to travel between campuses and perform space assessments for all owned and lease space.

Essential Functions        

  • Supports the Director of Facilities Planning and Programming by providing administrative and project development assistance for the planning and programming of new and redevelopment of current university space for all campuses. Including: scopes of work, sketches, user requirements, estimates, facility impact statements, etc…
  • Meets with academic and administrative groups to verify their current use of space, assess their current facilities, discuss their needs and/or concerns both in terms of space work flows, comfort and convenience in the near term and future. Frequently makes space condition assessments through site visits.
  • Oversees the project shaping (concept) process for short term needs space projects, As directed with an approved project, develops project through the next stages of design: preliminary, design development and construction documents or properly transfers the concept work project to another project manager in Capital Programs and Planning (CPP). Works closely with CPP staff and supports their work.
  • Maintains space management database that show the occupancy of a particular space, floor and building summarizing such use per department or other form of organizational grouping – current use of space plans. Manages X25Live space database for all campuses, updating the database when new space or space is reconfigured, supports space schedulers as needed to address issues/troubleshoot the database.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience        

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field

  • Computer literacy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Five years of experience in management experience in facility construction, renovation, space planning or design.

Minimum Starting Salary: $68,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $70,000

Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
